Shree Kedarnath Mandir - Uttarakhand - Rudrashtakam
One of the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus, Kedarnath Temple Jyotirlinga is located in the picturesque surroundings of Rudra Himalaya Range at a height of 12000 feet on a mountain named Kedar.
Lord Shiva is the one, whose form represents the state of the highest extinction of all desires and passions leading to the highest bliss. He is formless, beyond the knowledge and beyond the perception. By taking the form of Mahakal, he can tear apart time. He will help you in crossing this samsara. The Lord, over whose head the beautiful Ganga throbs and surges forth towards the worlds, over whose forehead the newly risen moon shines spreading its rays. His face beams with joy and grace. His auspicious nature is beyond the elements of the gross material world. He is the Lord of destruction. As Long as the lotus feet of the Lord of Uma is not worshipped in this world or later by the human beings, till then, joy, peace, and end of sorrows cannot not be experienced in life. The Rudrashtakam (eight verses in praise of Rudra) has been composed for pleasing Hara (another name of Shri Shiva) and those who recite this with devotion; with them Shri Shambhu will be always pleased.
